NTT DoCoMo’s Xperia Z finally gets the Android 4.2.2 update

Xperia Z DoCoMo Android 4.2.2 updateJapanese operator NTT DoCoMo has pushed the Android 4.2.2 update for the Xperia Z (SO-02E), a month after it started to roll out for the Xperia A (SO-04E). To upgrade, you must be on firmware build 10.1.D.0.343. Following the update, it moves the firmware build to version 10.3.1.B.0.256.

Changes include native compatibility with DUALSHOCK 3, improved Small Apps, a preview function added to the camera app, quality settings added to the Movie app, Bluetooth tethering and transparent UI in status bar and menu buttons.

Additionally, the Xperia A (SO-04E) and Xperia feat. HATSUNE MIKU (SO-04E) have also received a new firmware update moving the build version from 10.3.1.B.0.224 to 10.3.1.B.0.256. The update adds a “Play Game” application and fixes Sleep of Death (SoD) issues that were affecting the handset.
