Sony certainly isn’t taking it easy as we approach Christmas, as well as supplying six Sony Xperia devices with Android 4.3 so far, it looks like that a new firmware update will soon be heading to the Xperia Z1 and Xperia Z Ultra. Firmware build 14.2.A.1.114 has been certified by the PTCRB to all versions of the Xperia Z1 (C6902, C6903, C6906) and Xperia Z Ultra (C6802, C6833, C6843, C6806).
This moves the firmware build from 14.2.A.0.290 to 14.2.A.1.114, so it seems like a reasonably significant update. It hopefully irons out a number of problems that people were having with the existing Android 4.3 update. We would expect it to arrive at some point around the New Year. We’ll let you know when we hear any more.
