The Sony Xperia Z2 has already been available to pre-order from the official Sony Mobile Store for some time now. We are now seeing that the launch date seems to be firming towards early April, with many retailers pointing to a release during week commencing 7 April 2014.
In the UK, this comes at a SIM-free price of £599.99, but Sony will throw in the SRS-BTX300 wireless NFC speaker for free too. Sony is including the Sony Digital Noise Cancelling Headphones (MDR-NC31EM) as part of the retail contents and we expect this to be included with all Xperia Z2 units.
The Sony Mobile Store is doing similar promotions all over Europe, for example a free Smartband is included in Germany and Sweden. In Poland, Sony is throwing in a free DK36 magnetic charging dock, whilst in France, Italy and Spain Sony will include the BM10 Bluetooth Receiver. In Norway, retailer Komplett is also offering a free SmartBand once you pre-order the Xperia Z2.
In the UK, if you are after the handset SIM-free and don’t want to go for Sony Mobile’s offer then head over to Clove, Handtec or Unlocked Mobiles who are all offering the handset for around £550 and will include the SRS-BTM8 Speaker free. As mentioned earlier, the MDR-NC31EM headphones are included in all retail boxes.
Carphone Warehouse and Phones4U also recently opened up pre-orders in the UK, the latter will include free a SRS-BTX300 Wireless Speaker and 50% off the price of a SmartBand. Phones4U has exclusivity of the white colour in the UK, with carier O2 taking exclusivity over purple. Other UK carriers to pick the Xperia Z2 up include Vodafone and EE.
