At the start of this year, we saw numerous rumours that Sony Mobile planned to launch a Windows Phone powered handset. Those rumours have died down in the last few months, but @evleaks has just leaked what could be the first picture of the device. The device is believed to be named the “Sony Lue Z” and will run Windows Phone 8.1.
It looks like the picture is taken from the box packaging. The phone itself appears to sport the OmniBalance design seen in most recent Sony Xperia devices. Obviously it’s worth remembering that despite the great hit record of @evleaks when it comes to leaks, he is not infallible. He even caveats the leak by saying it comes “from a tipster I barely know — no guarantees here“. We’ll wait and see what comes from this – would you be excited to see a Windows Phone 8.1 Sony smartphone? Let’s hear your thoughts below.
Update: @evleaks has pulled the post suggesting the info is fake.
Pretty convinced that Sony is fake now, after consulting numerous people, so I pulled it down. Sorry if it got your hopes up.
