Sony SmartWatch 3 gets Android Wear 5.1.1 update [OTA URL available]

Android 5.1.1 Wear_3Sony SmartWatch 3 owners have been patiently waiting for the Android Wear 5.1 update to land, but that wait is now over. The Android 5.1.1 update is now rolling for the SW3, if you want to manually upgrade we have attached the OTA URL below.

This new update brings Wi-Fi support that means the watch will be able to carry on getting notifications, even if it is not connected to your phone via Bluetooth. It also includes ‘always-on’ apps (apps stay visible as long as you need them), easy to draw emoji and changes to the launcher so that contacts/apps are only a swipe away.
