Sony Mobile will shortly launch the Xperia C5 Ultra (E5506, E5553), codenamed Lavender. This has been confirmed by a leaked manual for the device. We have previously seen a number of in-the-wild pictures of the front panel and of the display itself, which suggested it will have a bezel-less frame (at least on the left and right sides of the phone).
The user guide confirms this, as you can see in the snippets below. Specifications confirmed by the guide include a 13MP rear camera (there is no confirmation of front-facing camera resolution, although this is also rumoured to sport a 13MP sensor), 2GB RAM, 16GB internal storage with microSD memory card slot with nano SIM. The handset will have a front-facing flash.
It is the first time we have seen the variant model numbers of Sony E5506 and E5553. In the prior leaks of Lavender, we have seen Sony E55XX (E5503, E5563) model numbers. Rumoured specifications include a 1080p resolution display that is bigger than the Xperia C4 (5.5-inches) and feature a MediaTek MT6752 (64-bit octa-core LTE) chipset.
Specs aside, it is the near bezel-less display that is likely to be the main talking point for the Xperia C5 Ultra. Do you like what you see? Let us know in the comments below.
