Xperia Nougat Beta to start very shortly for X Performance owners

It seems like that we have been talking about an Android Nougat Xperia Beta for a while. We first heard about pre-release Nougat firmware heading to the Xperia X Performance in early August, with registration finally opening in late September. Now, a month on, users that had signed up are now beginning to receive emails confirming if they have been successful in testing Sony’s latest firmware.

The emails confirm that the Android 7.0 Nougat Beta firmware will roll via an over-the-air update in the next 48 hours. This means it shouldn’t be too much longer before we get to see Sony’s take on the latest Android release. We don’t expect anything radical, after all, Sony already has one of the lighter skins out there, trying to stick closer to stock Android compared to other manufacturers. We’ll share some screens as soon as we get hold of them.
