We recently reported about the performance issues that Xperia Z5 users had when upgrading to Android 7.1.1 Nougat. A number of users have suffered lag, battery woes and crashes, however some have reported that disabling the Movie Creator application helped improve performance.
Now Sony has weighed in on the matter, saying that an update for the Movie Creator app (version 4.7.B.1.3) helps provide a fix. Sony is recommending users to update the app and restart your handset. This particular update landed on 21 July 2017, so if you’ve already updated the app without any fix, you’ll probably need to wait on Sony for a proper fix.

“Customers are recommended to update the application and restart their device. As always, customers who have any concerns regarding the performance of their Xperia device may contact their local customer service.”
