Sony Taiwan announced the Xperia 10 II earlier today, where it is expected to cost 11,490 Yuan (£309, €354, $385), which is slightly cheaper than the pricing we saw announced for Europe yesterday. While we still don’t have an official European release date, Sony confirmed that the Xperia 10 II will hit Taiwan on 20 May 2020.
Taiwan will also get two new colours (Blue and Green) of the Xperia 10 II, as well as the Black and White models that have been announced for Europe. There is no confirmation if we will see Blue and Green in Europe, but they may still yet surface as part of specific carrier deals.
The Taiwanese media were treated to an extensive hands-on experience of the Xperia 10 II, and you can see some of the first official camera samples from the phone below. These are full-resolution images, which you can download by clicking the relevant image. You will find photos taken from each of its triple rear camera setup, including some low light pictures.
A new introduction for the Xperia camera is a Night Mode functionality, where Sony is using AI for low-light images, rather than superimposing multiple pictures which can be affected by camera shake. We’re keen to see more of the camera, once the handset is released. Let us know what you think of the Xperia 10 II camera performance below.
The Xperia 10 II has a 6-inch 21:9 OLED display with FHD resolution (1080 x 2520) and Corning Gorilla Glass 6. The phone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 chipset, 4GB RAM and 128GB internal storage with microSD memory card support. Other features include a triple camera setup, IP65/68 water resistance, a 3600mAh battery and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
Xperia 10 II Taiwan Launch
Taiwan will get the option for all four colour choices of the Xperia 10 II, including ‘Berry Blue’ and ‘Mint Green’ variants. Europe will have to make do with ‘Cocoa Black’ and ‘Cream White’ only.
