Sony LT25i Tsubasa will run new eDream 9 software

by XB on 15th August 2012

in Rumours, Xperia V

A sample picture of the upcoming Sony LT25i ‘Tsubasa’ has popped up on Picasa. There’s nothing striking about the image itself, but the EXIF information shows that it will be running firmware 9.0.D.0.175. This implies a major new software build and version 9 of eDream (the internal codename that Sony Mobile uses for its Xperia software version numbers).

To put this in context the leaks of the Sony Xperia T (LT30p ‘Mint’) were running on eDream 7. Who knows what happened to eDream 8, but given the major new firmware version there is a possibility that the Tsubasa could be running Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.

Thanks Dacha!

  • Also rumors are suggesting than the LT25i will use a
Pixel Eyes™ “in-cell touch panel” display.

if this were JB, this will blow the competition out of the water! JB+S4 chipset=Superb I’m gonna get this device and show off to Sammy fanboys who really hates Sony products.

  • My new hope, as the mint did not please me much.

May be this is the Sony Xperia Nexus. Remember that 5 OEM’s will be producing Google Nexus devices this year  and I think Sony is one of them

Any one explain about e dream software. Is this runs additional with android or its new os that Sony builds.

  • All I know is it’s the firmware.
It’s not an app that runs with android.

  • Then it would come with Android Key Lime Pie, not Jelly Bean.

Every Nexus devices bring a newer version of Android.

  • Maybe the eDream 8 is for the Xperia Tablet S. (?)

  • if you want to see some detail of Sony LT25i please find here

Not necessarily, I remember that there was no Nexus Phone that come with stock Froyo. Nexus One had Eclair at launch and Nexus S had Gingerbread.

Sony is continuously loosing market share,,because of its lack of R & D, quality, UI, Customer support,, this is the time for sony to review its potential n start new strategy, otherwise in next few years Sony might close its shop.

So, will Mint_I and Hayabusa run ICS on launch? No. Can not be like that. As the three phones should be released by the end of this month.

certified 6.1.A.2.34 so we might get the e-dream for a self nobody knows whether will it be 7,8,9 but we might get it because it this 2 so it is a major update

  • According to this, it would still be on ICS although it ain’t official yet:
