Xperia T display versus Galaxy NEXUS Super AMOLED

in Xperia T

If you’re wondering how the Sony Xperia T (LT30p) TFT display fares against the Super AMOLED screen of the Galaxy Nexus then have a browse below. The displays used in most of Sony Xperia smartphones are a bit underrated in our view. They work well in sunlight and have reasonable viewing angles whilst providing a more natural picture compared to AMOLED alternatives.

This combined with the Bravia Engine makes browsing photos and videos even better with improved contrast levels and sharpness. It looks like the Xperia T continues these traits with its latest 4.6-inch (720 x1280) display. Photos can be misleading depending on what conditions each is taken such as viewing angle and lighting, but it looks pretty clear to us that the Xperia T has the better viewing angle over the Galaxy Nexus and even appears to better it under direct light. Based on these photos alone, it looks like Xperia T comes up trumps.

if you are human go for REALity display, if you are android/robot go for FAKEAMOLED display.

  • ethanhunt

I prefer, in the last e in the first image, super amoled… in the second image prefer reality display. Sony in the 2013 must be use oled tecnology as psvita.

  • Lunkz

the third picture has bad contrast on the xperia, maybe to high background light setting?

  • sAMOLEDs?

Isn’t LCD technology supposed to produce more real life images as compared to the super saturated AMOLEDs? Dosn’t seem that way in the shown pictures…

  • Remember that these are images caught with a camera. They do not represent real life.
In the last frame the Xperia T’s screen looks “too bright” and therefore washed out. But your eyes would adjust in a split second to match the brightness.

Anyone here heard that xperia T/TX might not come to the nordic countrys?
i tryed to sak at sony mobile facebook page they sayd: xperia T and TX might not see the nordic countrys!!

  • jxPerience

haha :D 1st up to 3rd picture reality display owns the super hype amoled. no oled for xperia pls…. or make oled with white magic so that it will become more visible under direct sunlight.

The real question is how does Xperia stands up against Nokia’s new phones?

  • Sami22

yes its true! T won´t come to Sweden

  • Scorpio

the question is, will it blend?

  • sonyfans

why not! sony make a 5″> screen. look samsung build a noteII, now rumors thy have a variant of dual sim. sony make t, tx,s etc. same screen size. im not a fan of samsung but i tempt to buy a wonderful dual sim with 5inch screen of noteII. my heart is in sony but i chose ip5 cos i ned to buy a big screen for my secondary phone with a dual sim. lenovo make a low end phone5″

  • i hate that unused space of the display… on screen buttons are good but really thet (google) need to figure it out another way to implement it

  • windrincar

the last picture seals the deal

  • dude

    Learn some English, please.

Screen are just bigger to support on-screen buttons. Before, buttons would take up space on the front face of the phone, now, phone can use that space when watching videos and pictures and something like that.

  • Willem

O it does, that’s for sure.
The screen of the Nokia what i see, very strange and i don’t trust on that.
The Bravia engine/ 13 mega pixel Exmor camera sensor and the Radio support is also missing on the Nokia 920.

I don’t know how the sound is on the Nokia 920, but the sound of the Xperia XT is very clear and loud.

  • Alvin

    yeah, I also don’t understand what does she/he said….

  • Alvin

yeah, nokia lumia 920 and 820 with PureView camera quality is great, but the video on! also really really great, then on 0:26 and 0:47 you will also see what camera they are using, that will be called Lumia 9000 with PureView version 100 with a big size like the professional camera…

  • AlexBurnout

    I love SONY Corporations.

  • lets not kid our selves, the galaxy nexus is nearly a year old, maybe we should be comparing the new xperia range to current flagships such as the htc one x or s3??

  • especially would be interesting to see the one x as it the best display going around atm
