Sony’s ‘Togari L4’ phablet to come with stylus support?

by XB on 30th May 2013

in Rumours, Xperia Z Ultra

Sony-Xperia-L4-1Sony is rumoured to launch a phablet with 6.44-inch 1080p display codenamed ‘Togari’. That much we already knew, but now we are hearing that Togari will have model number L4 and may come with stylus pen support, much like Samsung’s Galaxy Note series. The report from also suggests that the device would also be able to use any pen or pencil, which seems far-fetched.

We can corroborate that Togari’s model number is L4, although we have been aware of this since the start of the year, so it might just be an early model number. Likewise, we can reveal that Honami’s model number is M8. We’ll bring you more info as we have it.

Thanks aleks!

    I just love your optimism!

3GB RAM = not happening. If you see this in a rumour it’s simply fake. First reason: it’s absolutely not needed. Android has plenty of breathing room on 2GB. Second: it’d kill dual channel RAM and require a very strange chip setup. You’d either need two RAM chips or a very expensive custom-made 3GB chip.

So yeah, zero credibility here. Sorry.

most likely S800, because Honami is also listed as a S800 device, Sony wants to stick to less hardware variation (like specs not phone models hehehe) possible to speed up the software update process. Their software team is too small and we saw the train wreck S3 chip, the xperia s and I think they are trying to avoid that now.

‘optimism’ implies you thought the update wasn’t actually rolling out and was never going to lol…

  • Herman

    I just hate your pessimism…

  • DoucheyTuesday

Optimism is looking on the bright side of things so you used the word wrongly when you meant ‘joy’ or ‘enthusiasm’…pessimism means focusing at the negative not ‘correcting’.. You can google both words on your Xperia j.

Fuck AMOLED, oversaturated and expensive. If your touch sensor spoil, get ready to pay more for the sensor+screen because the sensor is sticked with the screen. Unlike AMOLEDs, if your touch sensor spoil, and that phone is using LCD, you’ll just need to pay for the touch sensor, the LCD remain the same, result in lower repair cost

Sony should use Super LCD, or tweak & replace the TFT LCD with better hardware such as better liquid crystals, electrodes, transistors etc. (IPS LCD is costly to manufacture and hard to tweak).

Yes, the tablet is pretty nice, so the stylus would definitely bring a plus.
Anyway for me, the stylus is a must-have in a tablet, as I use it for notes taking at work.

Big question is what will replace my old HTC Flyer?

I don’t want any Samsung, but the stylus candidates seem to be coming this summer (Asus, Sony, HTC).
