Xperia Z 236 firmwareThe Sony Xperia Z (C660X) may soon be receiving a new firmware upgrade judging by a thread on xda-developers. A poster who has a ‘brown’ developer device says that he has received a new update in the form of build number 10.3.1.A.0.236. This particular Android 4.2.2 version has not been certified on the PTCRB website so far, the latest current firmware is 10.3.A.0.423.

Whether this particular firmware version makes it to consumer devices is unknown right now, as it is likely to be a test version. Even if it doesn’t, it shows that hopefully a new firmware update is on its way soon for Xperia Z devices.

  • the_black_dragon

do a full wipe… then it will run as fast as before

  • ProWeirdo

Worth it? I was wondering about Cyanogen Mod, but I heard it collects all your data.

  • Herman

“People shutting up asking for updates when?”

No one knows here, just be patient. If you want a fix, flash a ROM or buy another device. Complaining won’t get you anywhere.

  • Damodara das

That is most certainly not true! Cyanogen Mod is one of the *most* privacy concious android builds. Any data collection from Cyanogen Mod (CM) is voluntary and transparent.

  • kjmok

full wipe? what do you mean by that? restore factory settings?

  • ProWeirdo

Any proof? I don’t mean statistics.

  • nidou bossy

well, im using ported MODS but not CM.. my xperia S UI looks the same like Z Ultra UI and its so fluid

  • Cristi13

“People shouting at people complaing about updates, shutting up when?”

Now one knows here, maybe when sony will deliver the updates. You can’t tell people not to express their opinion about sony, i guess whatever sony will do, there will be some defending them no matter what. You know, you can ignore these people complaining if it bothers you. When sony will drop support for xpz you will be the first in line to complain, but they are not going to change. So i guess your right ,complainig won’t get you anywhere.

  • Babylonbwoy

He’s right it’s not the place to complain everyday in every blogpost, people comes here to get new infos on what’s going on at sony, not to read child whining every damn day! Once in a time ok, everyday all day, no.

  • Babylonbwoy

It’s open source nobody will forbid you to check the code, and you can opt out, and with the time left you can even contribute to help them make a better secure rom.
You should experiment by yourself instead of spreading false rumors…

  • Cristi13

Yes,that is right but it got at some point that the ones complaining about the “complainers”got as childish as them. Making comments about how the people are going to complain when no one did on those respective articles.

  • coolboyzzzz

Yeah, I also wonder what do u mean full wipe?
Is it restore factory settings or reflash with flashtool and do a full wipe?
Because at first I already did a full wipe while flashing the 4.2.2 firmware..

  • jin

boot to recovery, wipe cache, wipe data, wipe dalvik cache

if you don’t get this, use google search

  • jin

    tough luck for you then

  • coolboyzzzz

Can we do those things withour root and unlock BL?

  • ProWeirdo

I’m not spreading false rumors, I just heard it once and I got intrested in that topic. I’m not a programist, I’m a normal user, so I don’t really know even the basics.

  • Cristi13

Cm is as secure as any other rom, they are very popular (millions of instals), you don’t need to worry. I am using right now, on my xperias s, cm10 (4.1.2) and is more faster than sony’s stock rom. It’s also very stable( apart from some minor graphical bugs). Oh, and it’s better with multitasking and at least for me , more battery friendly.

  • josesl16

  • josesl16

    Uhhh… just flash ’em?

  • ProWeirdo

How do YOU know what their programists collect? The fact that million people use it, doesn’t mean it’s safe. Same with Facebook – they collect and sell your data to other services – still many people use it. Do you really think they’d tell users that they’re collecting their data? NO.

  • Cristi13

Then don’t use this, don’t use facebook, don’t use the internet. As you said pretty much all the major companies use your data in some sort of way. In the cm roms, there is an option to send anonymus data to them (which mostly is for bugs and errors reports) and you can turn it off if you want. These guys at cm are just developers, who do what devs do.

    finally the day has come

  • Lilyf Tirack AddmePlease

I agree, i own xperia Z, one day Xperia Z will be abandoned and i accept it. We keep forgetting the world and its desires pass away. Also this world is fading away, along with everything that people crave. But anyone who does what pleases God obtain success and prosperity in this world and hereafter.

  • Babylonbwoy

Sorry to says that and I don’t want to be disrespectful but you don’t know what you are talking about, really. You can’t compare Facebook Google Amazon and other big companies making tons of money and CyanogenMod which is a free work made by passionate people. Read a little, be curious and before all : try by yourself!

Should i wait for more or what ???
    Pls help meeeeeee !!

  • Husam Al-Balushi

Hey, I had the same problem. The only to fix it is to return it and replace the Camera unit. the whole camera unit. The Camera unit is factory sealed. It’s been a couple of weeks and still no sign of dots. If they replace it correctly, your phone would still be water resistant. Mine took 20 days to get it fixed. Because they shipped it to Dubai as I live in Oman and the distributor is in UAE. Good luck
