Sony has confirmed that it is planning to release a major new update to its Socialife social application towards the end of this month. In a recent poll that we conducted, nearly 70% of our readers did not use the Socialife app for various reasons. Sony says that it has listened to its customers and will update the app with a “completely new look and feel”.
The home screen has been refreshed to stream all news feeds into “Headlines”, there will also be an integrated portal called “All feeds” that will update all news sources within Socialife. The access menu can now also be customised to allow for quick viewing of articles that might interest you.
Sony has also changed some of the user interface, creating a lighter colour design, which Sony says will make it easier to view articles, social posts and pictures. The update will only initially be available to Xperia smartphones (the Xperia Tablet updates will come later). The update is planned for the following Xperia smartphones: Z, ZL, ZR, SP, L, T, TX, V.
