wpid-sony-bm-10-mobiflipbkzy8.jpgSony may soon be launching a new portable NFC-enabled Bluetooth Receiver,  after product number BM-10 was spotted in FCC documents. The receiver has stereo RCA inputs and a micro USB port and measures a tiny 7 x 7 x 1.9 cm. We imagine the device is for people with existing hifi systems who want to add the ability to play music via an NFC-enabled smartphone. The confidentiality request expires on 6 September,  so an IFA reveal looks like a real possibility. The device is expected to have a RRP of $69.95.

I guess if this comes 2 my country it will be expensive as fu** but hope not bcuz this is awesome! want 1 right now.

You can also get the sbh20. Or will this device have a better output? (I guess it has RCA output, not input)

  • Martin Ambre

    i agree
i use my SBH20 to connect to the PA system

  • ggee

would it be better if it’s wifi. wifi consumes less power compared to bluetooth.

    A must buy

It’s a Bluetooth Music Receiver and will cost about $50/60 according to what I have see
I guess that the micro usb will be the power source, it will receive music via BT and then send it to hifi system via RCA?

Not for me I’m a vinyl addict and digger!

If its aptX enabled, then I will buy it on day one. Perfect match for z ultra and honami!

  • DStyle

I like this. I have a 15 year old HiFi system back home. With this add-on, I can play music from my XZ. Superb thinking Sony!!!

this + Xperia Z U + my old projector = OMG I CAN MAKE MONEY WITH THIS !! xD

  • djabag

This type of device is already on the market since a couple of years from different manufactures….So it´s not really a new thing, but a very useful one.

  • Quark Gluon

Yeah, the one-touch thing is cool.

  • reventon

    Don’t see much practical use.
You can easily get a 3.5mm RCA cable for much less.
Plus, if you are actually into hifi and audio quality, wired connection always deliver much better sound than wireless connection.

  • Tardar Sauce

this would be cool if it’s not too expensive… I bought myself an bluetooth receiver for 8$ from eBay and it works great with my xperia, laptop and netbook

  • roby

I want that! but on my TV for my movie and use Google Chrome with my phone Xperia!

Maybe a Sony NFC-enabled Bluetooth Receiver for TV to IFA. I hope!
