The connectivity with Google Fit should be available for every SmartBand and SmartWatch from Sony.

  • mohsen

but i love sony SmartWatch3 steel edition design

  • haxona

Kinda making me want one now :/

  • Tangent Lin

It have been so long Sony didn’t show great support for their user. After this I do feel Sony show care about their after sales service. Thank you Sony for providing get support.

  • BruceLeeRoyJenkins

Sorry to be “that guy”, but the Xperia SP owners would beg to differ.

  • BruceLeeRoyJenkins

Agreed, tighter integration with Google across their various SmartWear devices makes more sense

For a moment, i wanted one, because of the design, but i feel buying this does not make any sense, why would i buy this rather than the smartwatch 3, or any another smartwatch for that matter. It is absolutely limited when compared to Android Wear & i would rather spend on utility & a less battery life than on a device that only offers a curved display with very limited functionality.

  • BruceLeeRoyJenkins

I get that, but it really depends on price. And whether or not having a watch that can change its appearance whenever you want appeals to you

  • BruceLeeRoyJenkins

Not bad, considering a lot of people are saying have terrible battery life in the Z3 after Lollipop.

  • Srijan Chawla

This costs Rs 12500 in India (195$)

while the smartwatch 3 costs Rs 15,500 (240$)

& you have literally 100000000 options of clock faces on the play store
Now you tell me, is it worth the price?
Sony needs to fire some people in marketing, they have been making very bad decisions lately, i love this brand & their technology but it aches me to say this, but they are screwing big time.

  • BruceLeeRoyJenkins

You say that like the watch is a replacement for the Smartwatch 3, which it isn’t. All these projects are a way for Sony to expand their creativity which they desperately need.

And it’s up to the buyer. If they don’t want a SmartWatch then they can get this. It’s a way to expand and show creativity, nothing more nothing less.

  • Srijan Chawla

Very true, but in my opinion being creative & creating gimmicks is best when u are at the top of your game.
Right now, Sony needs to maintain its grasp over the market by targeting the maximum number of buyers
Take the example of Apple Watch, it is horrible but it still sells, why because, its an apple & has a strong market hold
    Just my opinion :)

  • Wolf0491

To me personally it Wouldn’t be about the price but that this is smaller than the SW3. I haven’t worn anything on my wrist in forever so I probably wouldn’t get either but I did get interested in this because it wasn’t as big as smart watches in general.

  • BruceLeeRoyJenkins

I agree about the Apple watch. But Sony is definitely not on its game. Honestly, if Sony wants to get creative and get those juices flowing then it makes sense. I mean, after all, creativity is what brought us great and unique devices like the Xperia SP, and other uniquely designed Xperia devices.

It does help to point out this is Sony offering it, and not Sony Xperia.

SD810 + unjustified thinness + Lollipop these days is a recipe for disaster :(

  • Matt

    A lot ? Nope.. .

  • BruceLeeRoyJenkins

People all over Reddit, and other sites say battery life has dropped. Still, better than current flagships, just not better than battery life on kitkat

  • theskig

Wow! I ordered a white one last night before going to sleep! Good news!

  • theskig

I assure you that Smart Watch 2 received a lot of updates and improvements even if is not the most common around.

  • Andrea

good, work! With images is fantastic.. my display now is very cool

  • Faisal Armand

I don’t know dude, but some of Z2 users on esato reported a better battery life on lollipop than 4.4.4 kitkat, myself included.

SD810 is the main culprit to blame, make no mistake about it

  • Matt

sure . . but i would rather you speak for yourself instead of being an unofficial spokesperson of reddit or other sites . . .

many people also say the earth is flat . .

but i get your point , my z3 lollipop battery life is more or less the same . . :(

I’m so happy this update came through.
I read an article the other day about Google Fit, it listed a bunch of partners and I was disappointed that Sony wasn’t listed. One of the biggest missing features for the SW30 was the ability to export data, now that’s no longer an issue.

I glad Sony has kept updating and adding new features but they seriously need to rethink their pricing. In Aus you’re looking at $199(I got mine for $149 on special) when you can get get the Samsung Gear Fit for $149 which gives you a heart rate monitor and the colour screen looks far more flash to someone who doesn’t know the advantages of eink.

It doesn’t export sleep data to Google Fit. Bye bye Sony.
