Gameloft: 8 Xperia PLAY titles on day one; 10 further titles over 6 months

Gameloft has confirmed that two of its game titles (Asphalt 6: Adrenaline and Star Battalion) will be pre-installed on the Xperia PLAY when it launches on 31 March. A further eight Gameloft titles will be available to buy on launch day, including Assassin’s Creed: Altairs Chronicles, Uno, Spiderman: Total Mayhem, Let’s Golf 2, Brothers in Arms 2: Global Front, Splinter Cell: Conviction, Real Football 2011 and Modern Combat 2: Black Pegasus. Sony Ericsson expects 50 launch day titles overall from various publishers.

Callum Rowley, Gameloft’s digital marketing & community manager, also pointed to a further 10 titles will be available over a period of six months but didn’t confirm which titles these are, some are yet to be announced. The success of the Xperia PLAY will hinge on the quality and breadth of its game content. Some cracking exclusives wouldn’t do any harm either, something that may be in the works.
