The Sony Ericsson Xperia active is due to be released in the UK on 9 September 2011 for a reasonable £229.99 according to Play.com. The water resistant 3-inch (320×480) handset runs on a 1GHz Qualcomm chipset and carries a 5MP camera sensor capable of 720p video recording.
As the name suggests, the Xperia active is designed for the sporty amongst you and can handle 30 minutes under water (up to 1m) without suffering any damage. It also has wet tracking technology that allows you to use the touchscreen under water. Rog from SE-First put the Xperia active under water to see if it survived (it did). Check out the video below.
