Pocketnow has pitched the display of the Sony Xperia S against two other flagships in the form of the Galaxy Nexus and iPhone 4S. All three phones have high pixel densities with the Xperia S leading the way with 342 PPI followed by the iPhone 4S (326 PPI) and the Galaxy Nexus (315 PPI). The Xperia S and Galaxy Nexus has a 720 x 1280 resolution display whilst the iPhone 4S has a 640 x 960 pixel resolution.

Doing a test like this is always tricky on video as it’s difficult to get a true idea of the difference through your monitor. They conducted a number of tests including viewing text, zooming in on an 18MP image and streaming HD YouTube video. We absolutely love the Xperia S display therefore it’s not surprising to hear that the Xperia S came out on top in this shootout both in terms of colour, clarity and detail.
