Sony Mobile confirmed today that the Xperia T (LT30p) is HD voice certified (GSMA accreditation). As the name suggests, HD Voice brings an extra level of clarity to your calls even in noisy environments. This means that consumers can talk normally and be heard clearly, without having to raise their voice.

This technology isn’t new though, a whole range of Sony Xperia handsets already have HD Voice capability. This includes the Xperia NXT family (S, P and U), Xperia ion, Xperia tipo/tipo dual, Xperia arc/arc S, Xperia neo, Xperia mini/mini pro, Xperia ray and Xperia PLAY.

However, there are limitations. HD Voice is only available between two HD capable phones and between customers on the same 3G network (this includes calls between T-Mobile and Orange networks in the UK; Three UK also has HD voice support). Hear a demonstration of how much difference to calls this technology can make here.
