Slice 1Sony is planning to launch a couple of new accessories designed for the Xperia Z2 that will enable you to wirelessly charge the handset. UK retailer Clove has received initial details of these products, although very little is known about them right now – there are no pictures or hard specs.

Sony will be launching two products to enable wireless charging on the Xperia Z2. First is the Sony WCR12 Wireless Charging Cover that will cost £69.99 when it launches in June. It will be available in two colours (black and white). There will also be the Sony WCH10 Wireless Charging Plate that will retail for £54.99.

Obviously, these products are not cheap, although there is a chance that the pricing will come down closer to launch. We would imagine that Sony is using the Qi inductive power standard to charge the handset. Therefore, you would probably be able to buy a much cheaper Qi charging plate for instance. We’ll bring you more news on these accessories as we have it.
