Xperia C ClockworkMod RecoveryThe Sony Xperia C is the only phone in the 2013 Xperia range whose bootloader cannot be unlocked. This is down to the MediaTek chipset powering the handset. Xperia C owners feared the worst in terms of not being able to run custom ROMs, but there is now renewed hope as a method to install ClockworkMod Recovery (CWM) has emerged.

CWM Recovery can be used to install custom ROMs. There are two different methods to install the recovery, depending on which “S1 Boot Version” your phone has. This can be accessed by the service menu (Service info > Software info). To install CWM Recovery your phone will need to be rooted. The full guide and download links can be found at XDA-developers. Now all we need is developers to create a custom ROM.
