One of the highlights from MediaTek’s new MT6795 chip launch was a headline grabbing 480fps Full HD video capture, enabling playback at 1/16 speed. If manufacturers want to take advantage of this feature then they will need to incorporate the Sony IMX220, 20.7MP sensor into their hardware. The sensor is used to capture the video which is then passed through MediaTek’s image processing pipeline, to ensure each processed frame has excellent clarity and detail. We have included another video demo below which looks at Sony’s image processing versus MediaTek’s image processing, particular in HDR photos.
