Many of us were disappointed when we learned that Sony Mobile did not support manual camera settings through the Camera2 API within Android 5.0 Lollipop. However, it looks as if Sony is listening to everyone’s demands of wanting greater manual control within their Sony Xperia devices.
A hands-on video from our friends at Btekt confirms that the upcoming Xperia Z3+ will indeed support most manual settings including focus, white balance, ISO and shutter speed.
The only one still missing, and perhaps the biggest, is RAW support. However, there is a good chance that Sony may open this up in due course. We would hope that these manual settings will open up to all of those on Lollipop over time – not just for those that own the Xperia Z3+.
Thanks Amimanot!
