Xperia Battery STAMINASony Mobile and Japanese operator NTT docomo have released an Android Marshmallow update that sees the return of the STAMINA mode, as expected. The battery-saving mode was axed when Marshmallow first arrived, as Google’s native Doze feature does something very similar.

The new firmware build number 32.1.F.1.38 is currently live on the Xperia Z5 (SO-01H), Xperia Z5 Compact (SO-02H) and Xperia Z5 Premium (SO-03H). In addition, NTT docomo has today released Android Marshmallow for the Xperia Z4 (SO-03G), which also includes STAMINA mode. The Xperia Z4 has been updated to build number 32.1.E.1.38.

Now that Japanese models have STAMINA mode back, it is only a matter of time before we see it introduced to global models. Indeed, Sony recently confirmed that STAMINA mode is due to make a return in Xperia devices running Marshmallow later in the year.
