Sony Mobile India held a press event earlier today, announcing the introduction of the Xperia XZs for the market. Xperia XZs pre-orders open tomorrow in India, with the Xperia XZs to hit retail on 11 April 2017. The Xperia XZs will be available in three colours (Black, Warm Silver, Ice Blue) at a recommended price point of Rs. 49,990 (£614, €721, $769).
The Xperia XZs looks pretty much identical to the Xperia XZ, but comes with an upgraded camera, using the new 1/2.3-inch 19MP Exmor RS “Motion Eye” camera, with 960 frames per second super slow motion video and predictive capture. It has a pixel pitch of 1.22μm is 19% larger than those used Sony’s previous Xperia phones. This is the same camera that will be found in the Xperia XZ Premium. The main other upgrade is 4GB RAM (versus 3GB for the Xperia XZ).
Other features remain the same as the Xperia XZ, including Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 (MSM8996) chipset, 32GB internal storage (64GB for dual SIM), a 2900mAh battery , IP65/IP68 dust and water resistance and a 13MP 1/3.06-inch Exmor RS front-facing camera.
