Sony Xperia SL: Benchmark confirms 1.7GHz clock speed

no no no, i dont want to care i want LT30, but why did sony do this?  could they not have been able to sell the xperia sl from the start?  is it still cradle less?  god some people there work in odd ways!  

Probably just like with the Xperia Arc S. Qualcomm stopped producing the 1.5Ghz version, but Sony doesn’t want to create versions of the same product with the same name as it causes people to lose trust. So they just named their new batches with the 1.7Ghz-version SL instead of S.

Take the HTC One S for example. It first came with the Snapdragon S4. Then HTC decided to start using the (quite a lot slower) Snapdragon S3 because they had a shortage of the S4′s. Unfotunately there is no way to tell if you have the S4 or S3 without turning it on. That is something that is incredibly annoying and might slow down sales as people don’t want to risk getting a slow version.

The SL is just the Xperia S with a new chip, that is all. There won’t be any changes, and probably the software from the SL will be compatible with the software on the S, just like how Arc S software works perfectly on the Arc.

Not complaining ’cause I always wanted a purple phone.
