A few more leaked photos of the Xperia J (ST26i)

by XB on 27/07/2012

in Rumours, Xperia J

We have already seen a few leaked photos of the upcoming Sony Xperia J (ST26i) and what was notable was the absence of the Sony Ericsson liquid energy ball on the back. Some new photos have emerged of the Xperia J in black, white and pink colours which shows that it does look like it will not have the green logo we have all become accustomed to.

The Sony Xperia J is rumoured to have a 4-inch (480 x 854) display, 1GHz single-core processor (MSM7627A chipset) and will launch with Android 4.0.4. We imagine camera duties will be taken care of by a 5MP sensor with LED flash. The power and volume buttons sit towards the top-right of the handset, but we couldn’t make out a dedicated camera key. There are no pictures of the front but we already have an idea of how it will look from the past leak with three capacitive buttons and a front-facing camera.

I still prefer the Xarc and Xray design with new color texture and higher specs!

  • rafi

    Very cute phone

  • Radzie

I dont found the taste of Sony on this new leaked phone. The liquid ball logo it was so familiar to us. If we seen that liquid ball logo, directly asumse that was Sony-gorgeous phone.

  • jx

nope without the liquid logo it show more simplicity and classic looks for the mobile. More simply, more elegant. Hoping that the name of the mobile should be engrave together with xperia. and Xperia Icon should have some transparent or illumination effects when move side by side. im glad that they finally remove the Sony Ericsson influence. Sony mobile should work now with SONY’s strategy.

  • jx

when will Sony realizes that flooding the market with two many similar phones with different design is not a good sign of success. See this trent
miro, tipo, and tipo dual are similar running 800mhz
    neo L running 2011 processor
xperia U,P,Sola,Go are running novathor processor
Xperia Ion, S, Acro S are s3 processor

why not make them into one device.

Xperia Miro for entry/low level (800 mhz, front facing cam, 5mp camera, led flash, micro sd card support, 4GB internal memory, fwvga resolution 3.5 inches and dual sim support, black, white, pink, blue color) forget the tipo and tipo dual

Xperia P for low/mid level (novathor processor, 8mp canera, full hd video recording, white magic display, floating touch, qhd resolution with 290 ppi, 4 inches, hd 1.9mp front camera, water, shock, and dust resistant, embedded 1850 mah battery, micro sim support, nfc support, built in hdmi port with 3 storage options (16GB, 32Gb and 64Gb), black, white, silver color, matte aluminum body) forget the xperia U,Xperia Go, and Xperia Sola

Xperia S for mid/high level ( 1.5Ghz S3 processor, full hd screen resolution with 320 ppi, 4.3 inches, 12 mp camera, full hd video recording, 3mp hd front facing camera, water and dust resistant, 16GB internal memory with SD card support, embedded 2000 mah battery, micro sim support, white magic display, nfc support, build in hdmi port, black, magnesium or aluminum body, white and red color) forget the Xperia Ion, Xperia Acro S

Xperia Z for high level ( specs should be ahead of competition (galaxy s3, one x)

with these 4 series people will not get confused and easy to decide which one to buy.

  • LUFC_MOT

How many entry level smartphones are sony going to make ffs, all the new phones either have decent specs but awful form factors or vice versa … If you can make the Ray look, perform and feel so good and all in such a small, elegant package then why are all the new phones either huge and fugly or sexy, smallish but awful specs, especially cameras …. 5mp in 2012? really !!

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_MTN2P2WKLFOI74E46RLAZ5B5TQ Dacha

Does it look like if the phone has a curved back or is just an illusion? On the white phone the center looks a lot thinner than the top and bottom.

  • http://xperiadev.wordpress.com/ xfds

    Simple | Minimal

  • http://xperiadev.wordpress.com/ xfds

I like the Arc’s desing because of the form factor, and the hardware buttons on the bottom. Still i prefer an Xperia Handset with 3 Hardware buttons on the bottom then touch.

  • Dude

i agree…u must be hired to work for sony soon!

  • Steve Blow Jobz

Way to go. Finally that green piece of shit is gone. Too bad the phone is garbage with low-end hardware.

  • Ashishxperiaromea

    Completly true
    It should be

    Xperia J at entry level
Xperia U at mid entry level
    Xperia P at mid level
    xperia S at high level
    Xperia Z at premium level

Adding on Xperia GO and Xperia ACRO S as midlevel n high level waterproof smartphones can be legible

Year after year they can keep updating by producing next generation of each of these phones

  • paul4id

I think the style would increase with fewer logos to be honest. On the front it should just say SONY (not Xperia), and on the back it should just say Xperia. I think, for example, the design of the SX is spoilt by the second “Xperia” on the front (and by the stupid space-wasting on-screen ICS buttons).

  • paul4id

Indeed, they are stupid. Just make PERFECT devices in different form factors and then you will increase the brand image. This idea of creating 20 devices all the same, except flawed in different ways (some have crap cameras, some crap screens, some crap no SD expansion, some crap non-replaceable battery, ALL crap no hardware QWERTY).

Their 2011 strategy was the right idea.

  • paul4id

No, that is a dumb strategy that weakens the brand. ALL devices should be premium to some extent. The problem is that what is premium for one person is not premium for another. Some people like compact phones, some people like large phones, some people like tiny phones, some people like PROPER HARDWARE QWERTY KEYBOARDS AND TACTILE BUTTONS.

They had the right idea for 2011 Xperias.

  • Jerry Berglund

I do have to say the Logo really is missing on these. I do not agree we those wich think they look more elegant without the logo. It looks lika all the other phones on the market on the backside.

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Carl-Johan-Nilsson/664148428 Carl-Johan Nilsson

Sony is the manufacturer that supports it’s devices the most. 10/11 2011 handsets on ICS. HTC and Samsung have only updated 2 devices each..

  • smoq hydra

    1GHz single-core processor and a 5MP camera??

*loves his Ray even more running AOSP ICS*

  • http://twitter.com/vichetqianyi Vichet Bondol

Yes, it’s missing either the liquid energy logo, or the transparent strip or some style in general. :-(

its the energy liquid logo. that’s their trademark. transparent strip is a new trend on NXT devices. Not that used to it to miss it. Maybe I’ll get used to the liquid energy logo not being there but it’ll take time for sure. We need another trademark to recognise Sony and fall in love with the brand again.
