in Rumours, Xperia J

If the recent Mobile-Review preview pictures of the Sony Xperia J left you a bit wanting, then check out the first press picture of the device below.  It is a nice looking handset with what looks like a slight arc on the back. We expect the Sony Xperia J to be announced at IFA 2012 next week.

Darn. Sony design always rocked. :)
Only thing missing is the green orb. :(.

So this will be the first low end device with the inward curve by Sony. Awesome move. This will seal to a great extent, the market at the low ends.

MobileReview takes poor pics.. Almost seems deliberate.
But wow this one is sexy! Thought the J would be brickish, as seen before. For the price you pay you get great hardware both in and out, as well as Sony’s great UI! A phone I’ll recommend to friends!

Xperia Arc still is one of the most beautiful phones out there….no wonder Sony cant better their own design masterpiece: )

    Look better than previous shot

yeah! But I’m glad the design lives on with the upcoming generation of phones.

“Though according to Mobile-Review, the screen is said to offer “poor colour reproduction, excessive glare and low viewing angles”.

Inside is a 1,700mAh battery, and a 800MHz Qualcomm MSM7227a processor. That processor is considerably less powerful than most smartphones nowadays, so it’s very much a low-end handset.

A 5MP camera sits on the back, capable of capturing video at 640×480-pixels. That’s a lot lower than HD resolution. An LED flash is also expected, as well as a front-facing camera, though there’s no word on the resolution of the latter. Given the specs so far, we’d expect it to be VGA.”

…. Copied from Techradar but going on them specs it resembles the Ray in no way, shape or form … Successor? I don’t think so.

Disagree… I’d say the Xperia SX is more of a Ray successor.
The Xperia SX is small(ish) and designed by a Japan based team, just like Ray was. The Xperia J is also a step back in hardware compared to the Ray.

Agree, the Ray & SX are both smaller size with no compromise on specs, they even have the identical color range (black/white/pink/gold for Ray & black/white/pink/orange for SX). While this Xperia J is a very low end specs phone.

  • It is very nice design but what about feature and specification I am interest to know full information not only pic.

and it is true that arc is the best design in Sony mobile.

According to the info i got , this xperia J will feature a 4″ WVGA touchscreen with 854*480 pixels resolution and run on android 4.0.4 ICS and has 1 GHz single core Processor. It also has a 5MP rear Camera with single LED flash and VGA front facing Camera . This is a low end phone may be priced at approx. 10,000 (Indian)rupees as one of the trusted Indian based Pc manufacturer Iball also lauched its Iball Andi 4d which sports 4″ WVGA touch screen and 1 GHz processor, 5MP camera with LED flash and front VGA camera and runs on Android 2.3.6 Gingerbread which is old , for Rs. 9500. So its not a new phone supporting a big screen as Micromax also launched its 5″ touchscreen supporting phone A100 for just Rs.10000. I know Sony is a name in mobile phone world but these are also competing now and may be come up one day.
