New Sony C2105 model spotted in benchmark

in Rumours, Xperia L series

Another new Sony Xperia handset has been identified via a benchmark. The Sony C2105 can be found listed in GLBenchmark and reveals a few interesting details. Firstly, judging by the model number ‘C2105’ we know this is likely to be a sub mid-range device that sits just above the Xperia E (C150X) and Xperia E Dual (C160X).

Secondly, this will have a FWVGA screen resolution, but with on-screen virtual buttons as seen in the current Xperia GX/T/TX/V models. The screen resolution is listed as 480 x 791, which gives this away – leaving 63 vertical pixels for the on-screen buttons. This would be the first Sony Xperia device with FWVGA resolution to sport virtual buttons.

Thirdly, the maximum CPU frequency is listed as 1026 MHz, most likely suggesting a 1GHz single-core chipset, or who knows we may even see a dual-core chipset such as the NovaThor U8500 but we doubt it. The benchmark also reveals that it is running on Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean with 15.0.A.0.8 firmware (the first time we have seen eDream 15 mentioned). So overall, we believe this is likely to be the 2013 version of the Xperia J, or something close to it. However, we’ll bring you more news as we have it.

    first blood

  • And still they say they can’t give an update for arc and arc s! Bunch of hypocrites!

  • felix lefort

nice. even more phones, jesus they won’t learn.

  • No, please Sony, no on-screen buttons for displays with FWVGA and lower.

  • jxPerience

i like it more compare to sensitive keys without lights (ehem Xperia Ray, Xperia Ion, Xperia Acro S)

Sony don’t release too many phones next year. Just release 3 phones for the first half and 3 phones for the 2nd half of 2013. Know what happened this year?

    1. Potential buyer of Miro waited for the release of Xperia J and forget Miro
    2. Potential buyer of xperia acros S wait for the release of Xperia V and forget Acro S
    3. potential buyer of Xperia Ion/S wait for the release of Xperia T/TX
Only model who dont have identical specs is only the Xperia P

  • Capacitive buttons are better for smaller displays, since phones that have FWVGA/WVGA resolution usually have 3.5 to 4.0 inches displays.

  • Hey, XperiaBlog! Why does it say on the source link that it could have a S4 Plus SoC (MSM8X30)?

I just want an xperia ray 2 :'(

  • M Usman

oh God please guide Sony to the straight path. This is getting too much

  • It’s not too bad on my Neo, but they should be 30 px or less.

This is getting boring now, every other day there’s news on yet another sub mid level phone with inferior specs that what I have now yet the ability to run a version of Android that, apparently, my phone isn’t suitable for … Who is telling the powers that be at Sony that the way to go is to release 30 shit phones that nobody wants and to ditch their customers when it comes to support just so they will buy another phone.

This, like many others lately is a terrible decision on Sony’s part.

  • xperiaX10.awesome

GOOD BYE SONY, I was with you since Xperia X10
Followed with Xperia Arc, Xperia Play, Xperia S…but could not tolerate you any more !!!
Atleast Samsung learned to release few phones, its time for you to learn or there will be many SONY fans who will say goodbye to you..

  • jxPerience

ace 2 huh! Xperia U is better than ACE 2 in all aspects except for the limited storage of U.
Never ever compare my luxury xperia brand to those cheap galaxy brand!!!

My personal OP pinion is that Sony have given up on the high end battle in favor of trying to dominate the lower end segment. That’s why they release so many phones to tempt feature phone users. If you’re a high end user, Sony really isn’t the place to be. That much I am now certain of
