Six months ago we reported on the issue that many Sony Ericsson Xperia arc users suffer from, namely cracks in the chassis. Our resident Xperia arc has the problem and many people thought that the newer Xperia arc S handset would be crack free. Up until now that has been the case with no reports of any problems from Xperia arc S users.
However, now at least one user has reported the crack on his white Xperia arc S. The crack manifests in the same place that hit the Xperia arc users i.e. near the proximity sensor. We didn’t think there would be any reason why the arc S wouldn’t have the same issues, after all the phone is exactly the same as the arc. As far as we know Sony Ericsson has made no official comment on this structural issue, despite it appearing to be a widespread problem (at least for arc users). We’ve got a quick poll to the Xperia arc S users below and just want to know whether you’re affected or not?
