Bluetooth SIGThe Android 4.4 KitKat firmware updates for the Xperia E1 and Xperia M2 (including ‘Dual’ variants) have received their certifications from Bluetooth SIG. This should mean that the KitKat firmware updates for these devices are on their way, although we’ve seen no PTCRB certifications just yet.

The Bluetooth SIG tags the Xperia E1 software name as “Falcon KK-update” and the Xperia M2 as “Eagle KK_Update”. Falcon and Eagle are the codenames for the Xperia E1 and Xperia M2 respectively. Android KitKat for the Xperia E1 Dual (D2104) will have build number 20.1.B.0.20 according to the Bluetooth certification, although no software build number has been given for the Xperia M2.

Interestingly, under the Xperia M2/Xperia M2 Dual page there is a third model that has been tagged as “E3 IPX”. This device has model numbers D2403 and D2406, which we expect to be the Xperia M2 Aqua as reported yesterday.
