Sony Mobile and Verizon announced the Xperia Z4v earlier this week. The handset is broadly the same as the Xperia Z3+/Z4, but has a few key differences including a 5.2-inch WQHD display, wireless charging and a bigger battery (3000mAh). To compensate for this, the Xperia Z4v is both thicker (8.6mm vs 6.9mn) and heavier (160g vs 144g) than the Xperia Z3+/Z4.
The Verge went hands-on with the handset and said that the Xperia Z4v is “basically just a thicker Z4 that looks a bit rougher for the changes” that is well-made with a bright display that “fades off as you look at it from the side.” Android Central also went hands-on and said the phone “feels great in the hand” with the software flowing wonderfully given the use of the Snapdragon 810 chipset.
