Sony finally adds app shortcuts to latest Xperia Home Beta (10.2.A.3.47)

Sony Mobile has finally added application shortcuts to hits home launcher, in the latest beta of Xperia Home with build number 10.2.A.3.47. App shortcuts allow you to bring a context menu of app shortcuts when long pressing on a compatible app. So for example, the Google Drive app (as seen below) can show options for uploading, scanning or searching your files.

The latest beta also brings extended Android 8.0 Oreo support, supporting notification dots on app icons. Another small UI change is creating blur behind folders. If you want to try the update yourself, then sign up to the Google+ Xperia Home Beta Community, or you can find the APK download in the link below. Don’t bother trying to make it work unless you are already running Android 7.1 Nougat. We can’t wait to see app shortcuts hit the stable Xperia firmware.
