Sony Mobile has today released the Android 9 Pie firmware update for the Xperia XZ2 Premium with build number 52.0.A.3.84. This firmware update comes with November 2018 Android security patches, and the same build (from 52.0.A.3.27) is also currently rolling to the Xperia XZ3, XZ2 and XZ2 Compact.

While Sony has not adopted Android Pie gesture navigation, Xperia XZ2 Premium owners will get Sony’s new camera interface. It will be interesting to see if Sony have made any further changes to the camera, this being the company’s only dual rear camera on the market. If you’re a Xperia XZ2 Premium owner and have updated to Android Pie, please let us know your impressions below, particularly on the camera.

Thanks Diogo, Joey, Matthew and Moisés!
