Leaked video shows Android 4.0 ICS running on Xperia S

We are still around a month away from the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update appearing on the Sony Xperia S, but if you want to get a closer look at what you can expect then check out the video below from Thai community site SonyXP.com.

It shows the Walkman app, which just seems to be the new name for the current music player as well as the new gallery that looks great. The original video has been taken down along with another copy of the video. See the video below before it also goes off air too.

Why no toggle shortcuts in the notifications like we saw on the GX. I hope this is not the finished article. It’s one thing to give better hardware to their Japanese kin but to give them better software as well.
Now that would really be the last straw for me. If they do that, then the S will really be my last phone by Sony.
These regional variations are getting a bit much for my blood.
One word sums up my feelings of this video…… Disappointing.

Sony has definitely done a pretty good job with the Xperia S, unlike that with the 2011 series, which has been an utter disappointment.
The new gallery is pretty awesome. The new added features & the revamped UI is great. I just wish the same, or at least similar enhancements would be made to the 2011 series as well in the 4.0.4 update.

This is a prototype device. This firmware Sony releases only on prototype devices. Only people who have a prototype device had access to the beta firmware.

There is always a difference between software for current phones. It’s the same with all manufactures. The latest software enhancements are reserved for the newer releases. The X10 got a reduced gingerbread firmware than the Arc. It’s the same this time too

The Xperia S in Japan has a Sony Ericsson logo. They weren’t given approval to change the name to just Sony in time for the release.

After watch it thoroughly, only two I didn’t like about it is camera UI I really want the old elegant from xperia 2011 back, why they decided to use a standard which is pretty ugly. The second in dial pad menu why why they moved log tabs to the top, it will hurt my finger to reach due to big screen size does the matter. I rather love with the one in Android 2.3.7 that keep it to bottom and pretty handy to use.

Guys this is ICS for Xperia Arc, don’t get fooled. Look at the player controls and at the static Cosmic Flow wallpaper. I bet this is the ICS rom for the 2011 line of Xperias,

as a 2011 series owner, I’m not disappointed at all… the 2011 devices run very well on gingerbread, and we’ll be able to upgrade to ICS before motorola, samsung and lg users.

they should have not included the camera on the screen lock because it already has a dedicated camera button for fast capture, the sound on and vibration on is already a good feature
