Sony Mobile is moving a step closer to rebranding the Walkman application to “Music” as the new app is now listed on the Google Play Store (although it cannot be updated just yet). Music or “Xperia Music” as it sometimes referred to in the listing looks like the same app as the current Walkman app, but as you will notice from the screenshots below, the top of the app is now called “Music” instead of “Walkman”.
Previously, the Walkman app was updated through Sony’s “Update Centre” application, however it appears that Sony will bring its new music app to the Play Store in what has been a continuing trend in bringing its key apps to the Play Store. We’ll keep you posted as soon as the listing is live.
