in Rumours, Xperia XA series

A new phone supposedly called the “Sony Xperia XA1 Plus” has been outed, and is expected to launch alongside the Xperia XZ1 and XZ1 Compact flagships tomorrow. The Xperia XA1 Plus will have a 5.5-inch FHD display and sits between the 5-inch Xperia XA1 and 6-inch Xperia XA1 Ultra.

The Xperia XA1 Plus will differ from the other handsets in the XA1 range by offering a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, and sport no front-facing flash to go alongside its 8MP selfie camera. Other specs include a MediaTek MT6757 Helio P20 chipset, 4GB RAM, 32GB internal storage, 23MP rear camera, USB Type-C and a battery capacity of 3430mAh. As can be seen in the pictures below, the Xperia XA1 Plus will come in four colours including Gold, Blue, Pink and Black.

What is apparent to see is that this device is very different to the Xperia model that leaked previously with a rear mounted fingerprint sensor. At this stage it is unclear, whether that model was a prototype, or whether it could be revealed at some point later. In the meantime, we’ll bring you all of the latest developments from Sony’s IFA 2017 press conference tomorrow.

Thanks KF and LaOlTomsk!
